A female motorist was the victim of a sex attack as she drove through Drayton on the outskirts of Norwich.
The victim - who is described as “a mature lady” - had been driving along School Road through the area at some time between 8.30pm and 9.10pm on Monday. Officers have not yet released full details of the offence but it is believed to be a serious incident.
Police closed off the street for most of yesterday and an extensive search of the surrounding area was carried out in an attempt to find vital evidence.
A police spokeswoman said: “An investigation has been started though officers are at an early stage in their enquiries.
“Though it might be worrying for local residents an offence of this nature is extremely unusual. Officers are working hard to establish the facts relating to the incident.”
