A 49ft fishing boat was towed to safety by Wells' all-weather lifeboat after an oil pump and engine failure.
The King's Lynn-based Joanna called for assistance on Thursday night while about a mile and a half off Wells beach, north of Bob Hall's Sands.
The Doris Mann of Ampthill lifeboat launched at 8.25pm and took the fishing vessel in tow.
The recovery was made more difficult as the Joanna's fishing gear was dragging over the side and the hydraulics had failed.
The lifeboat towed the fishing boat to the mouth of the Wash where she was anchored in safety to await a tow on the next tide into Lynn.
