A cruiser boat which had been stolen from a mooring on the River Yare in Norwich has been found.

The seven-metre boat was stolen from Cary’s Meadow, Yarmouth Road, in the Thorpe St Andrew area between 9am and 5.30pm on Thursday, February 24.

The Freeman 23 design boat called Birrastoke has the registration number of H094 as well as a hardtop roof and blue canopy.

People on social media have claimed they have spotted the stolen vessel.

One person reported seeing it between 5pm and 5.30pm on February 26 at the Haddiscoe Cut on the River Waveney heading east towards St Olaves with two people on board.

Officers had asked the public to call Norfolk police if they have seen the boat.

But just before 5.15pm, police tweeted to advise the boat had been found.
