Dozens of firefighters are tackling a large fire in a Norfolk village near King's Lynn.

Smoke could be seen billowing from the blaze which started in the open in Main Road, Clenchwarton, at about 4.30pm on Friday.

Officers closed the road while the fire is being dealt with and drivers will need to find alternative routes.

King's Lynn Police has urged residents in the nearby area to keep all windows closed.

Crews from King's Lynn, Downham Market and Swaffham are among the appliances in attendance.

A Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service spokesman advised that they expect the incident to last "a number of hours".

It is currently unknown if there are any injuries in the incident.

As of 10pm, the fire service confirmed that firefighters remained at the scene.
