A 20-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Lowestoft.

The woman was arrested after police were called to an address at Crown Street East just after 4.30am on Saturday, May 27, to reports another young woman had been struck several times with a bottle.

A 21-year-old woman was taken to the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston and was found to have a cut and bruising to her head. She was discharged from hospital later on Saturday morning.

Olivia Wright, 20, of Crown Street East in Lowestoft, was later charged with attempted murder and with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

She was detained in custody and appeared before Norwich Magistrates on Monday, May 29, where she was remanded in custody to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on June 26.
