Ford's new 2015 company car line-up won five Fleet News awards – its best haul for more than five years.

Ford's acclaimed all-new Mondeo and new Focus, being delivered to fleets from the start of the year, spearheaded Ford's success in five categories with the Mondeo best upper medium and new company car, the Focus best low medium car and Ford Motor Company winning both the green fleet manufacturer and fleet manufacturer titles.

Stephen Briers, Fleet News editor, said: 'There are no weaknesses in Ford's model range which, from supermini to full-size people-carrier, offers something to meet every fleet requirement. Low running costs are a given, while Ford has a deserved reputation for making some of the best drivers' cars on the market.'

Mercedes-Benz achieved a hat-trick of accolades with the brand voted most improved manufacturer for the second year running, while the C-Class and E-Class were best premium and best executive car respectively.

Mr Briers said: 'Last year's winner has not rested on its laurels – it has continued to make significant improvements. Mercedes-Benz has invested in its people and services to keep pace with its rapid growth in fleet.

'The judges praised its outstanding customer service and highly-knowledgeable staff and said that the field teams are working hard on their fleet relationships. Topped by a much-improved model range, it edged Mercedes-Benz ahead of the pack for an unprecedented back-to-back category win.'

Skoda won two accolades with the judges, for an unprecedented second year running, voting the Octavia best estate car for its space, functionality, comfort and affordability, in addition to its range of efficient engines. The Fabia, already What Car? Car of the Year, won the best small car category.

Citroën also had a double success with the innovative C4 Cactus winning best compact sport utility vehicle and the Grand C4 Picasso best seven-seat people-carrier.

The Nissan Qashqai was named best mid-sized sport utility vehicle, underlining the British-built model's all-round appeal to fleet operators and company car drivers. It is now the fifth bestselling fleet car in the UK.

Hyundai's i10 receives the best city car title with judges impressed by its high-quality interior, low running costs and five-year unlimited mileage warranty.
