The Dower House forms part of a small complex of Grade II listed buildings, none of which have been developed, that previously served as part of the Costessey Hall Estate.

This estate dates to the 16th century or even earlier with a manor house believed to have been built in 1555 but it was in the mid 1800s when the large 'Downton Abbey' style hall was created for Lord Stafford Jerningham with gates, turrets and chimneys but following his death and a lack of a descendant, the estate passed into the hands of the army during the war and after this the hall fell into disrepair and was mostly demolished.

Parts were distributed around the county and many can be found in buildings all over the place so it does live on.

All that remains is the tower which the Dower House looks out towards.

The homes are indeed something different and will have private terraces and communal land made separate from the 18 hole, par-70 course which forms part of this 100 acre estate.
