I would like to thank the lovely people from London who picked up my wandering Jack Russell and took her into my neighbour who promptly reunited her with me about half an hour later.

The little perisher had managed to find an escape route despite stock fencing, and was walking about on the A1075 near my house just outside Shipdham, quite oblivious to the traffic but then she is deaf so that is understandable from her perspective. She was lucky not to be hit and I am hugely grateful to those who picked her up, popped her in their car and then made an effort to try and find out where she lived — a happy ending.

My neighbour didn't take their names but he thought they were not local and were apparently visiting friends or family in Scarning so if you know who they might be, please ask them to make contact with the paper as I would like to be able to thank them personally.

Mrs Anne Howard, Watton Road, Shipdham.
