A restored railway signalbox at Wroxham has had a boost with a £3,000 grant.
The outside has been refurbished through grant aid and funding raising, and now volunteers running it want to start building up exhibition materials.
Chairman of the Wroxham Signalbox Trust Peter Bower said: 'The signalbox is now attracting a lot of interest from local people who are delighted it has been brought back into use. Our visitor open days last summer were a great success. This latest grant will allow us to bring together an exhibition telling the story of the unique connection between the development of the railway and development of the Broads.
'We have already gathered some wonderful first-hand oral histories of signalmen and station managers who worked at Wroxham and close by who can recall the railway in its heyday. The sheer scale of the signalling system in the box is testament to the hive of activity that Wroxham station once was.'
The grant boost came from the Broads Authority's sustainable development fund.
The signalbox is open all over the bank holiday weekend from 10am until 4pm, and is welcoming anyone with railway memories of the Wroxham area.
Entry is free, although donations towards the costs of running the box are welcome.
