I'm sure the majority of readers fully support the EDP in its campaign highlighting the epidemic of drivers using their mobile phones whilst driving and the resulting fatality tragedies.

There have been many supportive letters including mine on this issue to the EDP.

Unfortunately there are issues preventing success in dramatically reducing the number of drivers using their phones whilst driving. Police patrols have reduced in the last few years, why?
