With summer underway, and the weather looking promising (at least for another week) it is prime time to pitch up at a pub, find a table outside and spend hours enjoying a drink (or three), good food and the company of family and friends. Here's a list to make finding the perfect spot in Norfolk that little bit easier.
• The Eagle, Norwich
Just outside the centre of Norwich, The Eagle is a charming pub fit with a brilliant beer garden to enjoy the sun in. There is also a children's climbing frame for the little ones to be distracted by and a menu for them if they don't fancy Swannington pork belly!
• The Fur & Feather Inn, Woodbastwick
As part of the Woodforde's Brewery, The Fur & Feather Inn is a lovely pub complete with a beer garden where you won't be fighting for a seat - there's plenty of tables and a little pond. It is a great meeting spot for catching up with family and friends, especially over the Woodfordes Wherry beer battered cod and chips!
• The Ferry Inn, Stokesby
Located on the River Bure, The Ferry Inn has panoramic river views from it's un-spoilt surroundings. When the sun sets, it is a magnificent place to enjoy a beer or glass of wine.
• The Rising Sun, Coltishall
Also on the River Bure, The Rising Sun has its name for a reason. Their view of the sun rising and setting on the horizon is unrivalled and with the pub garden right on the river, you can relax with nature all around.
• Nelson Head, Horsey
The Nelson Head is just a stroll from Horsey beach on the Norfolk coast. Therefore, during the summer months not only can you enjoy a superb view, you can hear the sounds of the ocean from the comfort of the pub and order scampi and chips to make the day even better.
• The Gunton Arms, Thorpe Market
Set in a 1000-acre deer park, the view at The Gunton Arms is unique. You can see deer and sculptures and the pub itself, an eighteenth century hall lovingly restored, is a worthy view too. The bar snacks are a must and look out for their perfect pork crackling.
• The Dun Cow, Salthouse
Right on the North Norfolk coast, the Dun Cow's beer garden is open and privy to an amazing view of the coastline. With a great atmospher and a locally inspired menu including fish of the day or fresh local crab linguini it's ideal for spending a perfect summers day.
• The Rivergarden, Norwich
Situated on the River Yare and a two mile walk from Norwich's city centre, this pub has the best of both worlds. They serve fresh local food, ideal to enjoy in this country haven.
• The Kings Head, Letheringsett
An idyllic location and a pretty house, this pub has a garden that, although quaint, guarantees a good time. The menu is enticing; with dishes like the venison and pork burger or a lobster and Cromer crab mac and cheese.
• The York Tavern, Norwich
This suntrap will host many a perfect summer lunch. It's family friendly with plenty of room for children to play and an array of picnic benches to spend the day at, you might fancy their classic chicken pie.
• The Acle Bridge Inn, Acle
Arguably the most picturesque of them all, this pub hosts a wonderful river view as it overlooks the River Bure and gorgeous sunsets. It's completely tranquilly rural, so no one will ever know if you sneak a steak and ale pie with your beer.
