A diverse selection of entertainment has been promised by the founder of the region's biggest music and arts festival as new comedy acts are added to the bill.

Melvin Benn welcomed the new names and said this year's comedy line-up was 'probably the greatest comedy line-up' the Latitude Festival had ever seen.

'They are joining what is probably the most diverse selection and collection of entertainment in the smallest footprint you can imagine,' added Mr Benn.

One of Britain's most celebrated comedians Bill Bailey has been confirmed to headline the comedy stage. Other new names announced include pun-loving comedian Milton Jones and Katherine Ryan, who will be entertaining audiences with her acerbic, razor-sharp critique of pop culture.

Creator, writer and actor of the multi-award-winning The League of Gentleman Reece Sheersmith, and comedian, actor and presenter Rufus Hound will be the special guests for Robin Ince and Josie Long's Festival Shambles.

YouTube sensation Piff the Magic Dragon will be entertaining festival-goers with a mixture of magic tricks and deadpan comedy.

Also performing this year will be Radio 4 stalwart Marcus Brigstocke, who will host Prince Fest, a performance in tribute to a music artist who changed the world.

Film director Ken Loach will also be in conversation in the Music and Film Arena.
