A new mobile phone visitor guide which gives access to a wealth of information about the Broads was launched yesterday on the river at Wroxham.

The free app Enjoy the Broads, produced by the Broads Authority as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, gives visitors much of the information on the website www.enjoythebroads.com even without a broadband signal. Where there is a signal, there are links to lots more information as well.

The app features a huge choice of entries for boating, places to moor, eat, stay, walk, canoe, or take a boat trip, as well as public transport and events. It is available for iPhone and iPads in the Apple 'App' Store and on Android operating systems.

The app, paid for by EU funding, was launched on board a Norfolk Broads Direct cruiser by its two authors, Martin Dunford, the co-founder of the Rough Guides who has a home in Horning, and Richard Hammond.
