We moved to Norwich just over a year ago, since then you have had various rants and reports regarding cyclists all of which that I have seen have been negative.

As I have stated before in previous publications, Norwich is generally better equipped for cyclists than where we came from in Essex, but because pedestrians do not need to be so aware of cars in the city they have become completely blasé about the fact that they are walking for the most part on roads, roads which are also available to cyclists in a lot of instances.

MORE: Reader Letter: Leave cyclists alone, it's cars that cause the most troubleWe have found that many pedestrians are extremely aggressive towards cyclists even those of us that are very courteous and careful.

Car drivers don't want us on the roads, pedestrians don't want us in so-called pedestrian streets.

When we are the only genuine alternative to total gridlock it's about time the general public and the press got firmly behind us and try to hush the bad publicity.
