Norwich's very own secret garden has been closed for the past week following the discovery of a sinkhole in a neighbouring hotel. So just in case you had forgotten how impressive The Plantation Garden is, here are some photos to remind you.
The Plantation Garden, built by Henry Trevor in the late 19th century, is a leisure garden on Earlham Road known locally as 'the secret garden'.
It features a 57ft-long rustic bridge, the remains of an underground boiler house, a gothic fountain and an Italian terrace.
Initially the garden was set to close for a 48-hour period while the damage caused by a sinkhole discovered last Friday was assessed by engineers, but it has now been closed to the public for a week and no decision has yet been made about when it will re-open.
So if you're missing the beautiful scenery, here are some photos of the garden in all its glory to help keep you going until the gates unlock once more.
The Plantation Garden said on Facebook yesterday that it hopes to reopen within the next two weeks when engineers have examined the subsidence in the hotel next door.
The Plantation Hotel, meanwhile, where the hole appeared, was for sale. It was one a chain of hotels owned by the MJB Group which are being sold.
