Cut A Shine Hoedown Collective – with Kidnap Alice – promises a night of stonking tunes and raucous dancing at Diss Corn Hall on Saturday, November 10, at 8pm.
Cut A Shine are a London-based troupe of traditional musicians, dynamic dancers and crazy callers determined to spread the word that the Hoe Down is a'happening. While the banjo and the fiddle set the tone, the callers instruct any audience through do-sido's and strip the willows, until everyone is involved.
Whether at sellout dances in London or the top summer festivals, this 'Anarchic Hillbilly Barn Dancing Squad' create a rip-roaring, thigh-slapping, pavement-stomping, heart-thumping barn dance event.
And with soulful vocals and tight arrangements from a classic acoustic string band line-up, Kidnap Alice bridge the gap between vintage rhythm and blues and Appalachian mountain music, with an added modern twist.
Tickets 9 / concessions 8. Box office 11am-4pm, Mon-Sat, 01379 652241 or email boxoffice@disscornhall.co.uk
