A trip to stormy Cornwall to take part in a weather curtailed Cornish marathon was rewarded by post race pasties and a steaming cuppa for Bungay Black Dog Running Club (BBDRC) members Karen Gedge (finishing in four hours and 53 minutes), Rachel Hirst (5:03), Robin Ashe (5:12) and Tim Hirst (6:03).
Bungay Black Dog Running Club’s training ground played host to more than 200 competitors at the first of its Wednesday evening Summer Series of three 10k races.
Last weekend’s Virgin Money London Marathon saw a record 21 Bungay Black Dog Running Club members finishing among the 40,000 competing, while dozens more travelled to cheer them on.
More than 400 runners looking to shed the excesses of an indulgent Christmas gathered on Outney Common on the outskirts of Bungay on Boxing Day.
