A Norfolk-born artist who returned to her roots to paint by the sea is hosting an exhibition of her works at Great Yarmouth library.
Mo Folkes-Miller will be showing a huge variety of her work, some of which dates back to 1998, in a range of sizes and styles.
Born in Burgh Castle, Mo trained as a teacher speciailising in art at Loughborough in the 1960s and lived and worked in Gibraltar, Spain, France, London and Suffolk before returning to her Norfolk roots four years ago.
Now based in Gorleston she said: 'It's lovely being back home. I am meeting a whole new set of friends and enjoying being so close to the sea and the wonderfully relaxed atmosphere of Norfolk.'
Her paintings are lively, colourful and atmospheric with strong shapes and depth of feeling. She favours a loose, expressionistic way of working inter-mixed with traditional methods and does not like to be limited to one genre or size.
'I like to try everything, it depends on my mood, the weather, how much coffee I have had and how I actually feel and where I am on the day,' she added. 'Because of this I have no particular 'theme' or 'type' of subject or painting so anything could appear.'
Her exhibition, In No Particular Order, opens today (Tuesday) and runs until Monday, December 15.
