Melvin Benn, the festival's founder, said: 'We're incredibly pleased to announce The Black Keys as headliners, along with a huge variety of established and emerging artists, representing every genre from blues and rock through to world, indie, psychedelia, electronica and soul.

'Of course, it's the combination of outstanding music and arts that makes Latitude truly unique, and we're delighted to be able to reveal a whole host of high calibre comedians, theatre companies, poets, writers and other performers across the festival. I'm confident this is going to be the best Latitude yet.'

Artists already confirmed to play the festival include Norwegian electronic duo Röyksopp and Swedish indie-pop pioneer Robyn, in a special joint-appearance as part of their Do It Again 2014 tour.

Festival favourite Billy Bragg will be stopping off at Latitude with his band for a UK festival exclusive performance.
