The Hippodrome's Christmas Spectacular starts on Saturday and will offer a night families will never forget.

International artists include the Globe of Death with dare devil motor bike riders direct from Chile and Argentina with amazing new tricks and the giant death defying wheel from Bulgaria and Moldova, doing stunts that look impossible.

Other acts are Hugo the Spanish comedian and firebreather Antonio Candella, an amazing Columbian Teeterboard act, British Trapeze sensation Caroline and amazing aerialist Simona from Bucharest.

There are also dancers, swimmers, acrobats and a large children's group from Dance Estelle plus Jack Jay, established now as the Hippodromes number one host.

Hippodrome artistic curator Peter Jay said: 'This is by far the strongest Christmas Show we have ever had and we have smashed the record for advance bookings by nearly 40pc it's going to be a great Christmas and another amazing show!

Jack Jay said: 'It's a special time of year and this is a special show, a real family treat, we advise everyone to book early to avoid disappointment as many of the shows have already sold out!'

There is a special Gala New Year's Eve performance at 8pm which is without doubt one of the highlights of the entire year, tickets for this show are normal prices plus £3 but includes a goody bag of New Year's fun.

The Christmas spectacular runs from Saturday to January 7.

Tickets for adults are £19 - £23, concessions are £15 - £18, children £11 - £15.

There are no shows on December 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 25 and January 4 and 5.
