Latitude Festival took place from 13-16 July at Henham Park. Over the weekend 14-year-old Marianne Burbidge and 15-year-old Liesl Hammer tried their hand at being reporters in a project run by Culture Works East and the EDP, the pair went out into the crowds to ask people what they thought of the event.
First the girls spoke with Fiorella Lecoutteux from Paris and Ana Rosenthal from Madrid. Here's what they had to say:
1. Who has been your favourite act at the festival?
Dacha in Faraway Forest as we work there: 'Haven't seen anything else, though!'
2. What are the camping facilities, especially the toilets, like?
Performers glamping section, is really lovely. Toilets are clean and nice.
3. What would you do to improve Latitude?
There is a market here for better food but the food is expensive, so I'd make it cheaper.
4. What age group do you think Latitude appeals to?
Families, teens and young adults
5. What is your favourite food stall?
Vegan and Vegetarian hut, and the Greenpeace Cafe
6. What is the strangest thing you've seen?
The pink sheep.
Then they caught up with Julia Krikman who had travelled to Latitude from Brighton.
1. Who has been your favourite act at the festival?
A dance act in the theatre tent called 'Skin' dance company. I've also enjoyed Lisa Luck's Grenfell tower poem, and seeing Dave the Rapper in the Sunrise Arena.
2. What are the camping facilities, especially the toilets, like?
Family camping is luxury with lots of posh stuff, but the toilets stink.
3. What would you do to improve Latitude?
Add in a zipline between the carpark and camping with all your things on!
4. What age group do you think Latitude appeals to?
A really good age group, safe for teens and families.
5. What is your favourite food stall?
No food bought yet. The food all looks amazing but is very pricey.
6. What is the strangest thing you have seen?
When you live in Brighton, nothing really seems that strange.
Sally Read and Mike Corbett from Ipswich also stopped to chat with them...
1. Who has been your favourite act at the festival?
Reginald D Hunter, Two Door Cinema Club, looking forward to the Jesus and Mary Chain
2. What are the camping facilities, especially the toilets, like?
Really good toilets and they have improved since last year, but they are still an experience.
3. What would you do to improve Latitude?
Cheaper drinks, as they are very expensive, or you should be able to take a few drinks into the festival.
4. What age group do you think Latitude appeals to?
Universal' appeal; it ticks all the boxes.
5. What is your favourite food stall?
Burritos were lovely.
6. What is the strangest thing you've seen?
Not sure- Solas is quite strange.
Finally they posed their questions to Billy Allen and Laurence Bradshaw from Surlingham, both of whom were aged 13. They said:
1. Who has been your favourite act at the festival?
Mumford and Sons, and The 1975.
2. What are the camping facilities, especially the toilets, like?
Pretty decent, needs more toilets and showers, the campsite toilets are clean but the festival ones are not as clean.
3. What would you do to improve Latitude?
Cheaper drinks, and cleaner toilets.
4. What age group do you think Latitude appeals to?
There is a bit for everyone, kids and adults as well
5. What is your favourite food stall?
Enjoyed the wide variety of pizzas and the Noodle bar.
6. What's the strangest thing you've seen?
The mothball thing and Game Latron in Solas, in the woods.
