A road in Norwich had to be closed for two hours this evening after a lorry hit some scaffolding.

Oak Street was blocked in both directions at the A147 St Crispins Road and emergency services were called to deal with the accident at about 5.50pm.

The scaffolding collapsed and a fire service spokesman said there was one appliance in attendance helping to make the structure safe.

A police spokesman said the road re-opened at 8pm and there were not thought to be any injuries.
