Enjoy daffodil walks in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire
1 A mile of daffodils
Walk along an avenue of daffodils at Honing, near Stalham.
Honing Daffodil Day is on Sunday, March 25, 11am-4pm.
A host of golden daffodils line Honing Long Lane and visitors can admire them on foot, or by taking a vintage tractor ride from the village hall.
Free parking at the village hall, plus refreshments and stalls. All proceeds to Honing Church Fabric Fund.
2 A regiment of golden flowers
The annual Daffodil Day at the Suffolk Regiment Museum, Bury St Edmunds, is on Wednesday, March 28, 9.30am-3.30pm.
See the daffodils on the site of the Gibraltar Barracks – plus the museum too. Free entry and free parking.
3 Open garden
Daffodils tumble down to the banks of the River Waveney in the gardens of the Olde Coach House, The Street, Brockish, near Diss. The gardens, including two acres of woodland and a dazzling display of daffodils an other spring flowers, are open in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance, prostate cancer charities, East Anglia's Children's Hospices, St Elizabeth Hospice and other local charities, on Sunday, March 25, 10am-4pm. Refreshments and stalls. Adults £2.50, children free.
4 Thousands of spring bulbs
The Laburnums at Halesworth is a one-acre garden packed with thousands of spring bulbs, plus annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees. The gardens have a daffodil walk, newly restored pond, sunken garden and a conservatory with citrus and other tender plants.Plants stalls Plant stall with a variety of plants and bulbs. Open in aid of the National Garden Scheme charities on Sunday, March 25, 11am-5pm. Admission £4.50, children free.
5 On show
Daffodils are the focus of the the Norfolk and Norwich Horticultural Society's spring show at Easton and Otley College, near Norwich. Free entry on Sunday, March 25, 10am-4pm, with cut flowers, pot plants, vegetables, fruit, cookery and preserves, as well as daffodils.
6 Pleasure gardens
Swathes of golden daffodils cover the pleasure gardens in front of the palace at Ickworth.
These are the earliest surviving example of Italianate pleasure gardens of their kind, designed and planted in the 18th century and still delighting visitors. See formal planting alongside a meadow of flowers in the spring garden, plus a stumpery made of trees uprooted during the 'dig for victory' years of the Second World War.
7 Daffodil avenues
More than 100,000 daffodils are gilding the gardens and parkland at Blickling Hall, near Aylsham.
8 A moat of daffodils
Visit Melford Hall, Long Melford, near Sudbury, to see the moat bursting with daffodils – including the Melford and Ulla varieties, named for the estate. Hall, gardens, tearooms and shop open Wednesday to Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays.
9 Gilded gardens
Daffodils carpet the lawn in front of Felbrigg Hall, near Cromer, every spring.
10 Special spring opening
The grounds and gardens of Chippenham Park, near Ely, turn golden with daffodils every spring. They will be open daily until Friday, March 30, 10am-4pm. Entry £5, children free.
