A mum from Watton who gave her dying son cannabis in an attempt to help him has appeared on ITV's Loose Women.

Callie Blackwell joined Ruth Langsfield, Coleen Nolan, Jane Moore and Gloria Hunniford OBE on the show along with her son Deryn on Monday, October 23.

Mrs Blackwell was there to discuss why she thinks cannabis should be legalised for medical use as well as her book The Boy in 7 Billion.

Deryn was given mere days to live by doctors when he was 13 after undergoing three failed bone marrow transplants. In attempt to help ease her son's pain, Mrs Blackwell secretly gave him cannabis in a liquid form and says the drug saved his life.

'I took his life in my hands and it saved him.'

She added: 'It is a matter of life and death and people are suffering needlessly every day. We cannot keep being quiet. We need people to say I consume it and it helps me.'
