The only two Row Houses in Great Yarmouth to survive the bombs of the Second World War will open their doors for an evening of free entertainment to celebrate the 60th anniversary of VJ Day on Sunday, August 14.

The only two Row Houses in Great Yarmouth to survive the bombs of the Second World War will open their doors for an evening of free entertainment to celebrate the 60th anniversary of VJ Day on Sunday, August 14.

Vera Lynn tribute act Jill Daniels will perform classic wartime songs and there will be a chance for families to enjoy traditional games, sample original ration book recipes and tour the historic houses, during A Night to Remember between 5 and 8pm.

Mark Hayden, the visitor operations manager for Suffolk, South Norfolk and Coastal Essex, said: “We are delighted to offer the local community and holidaymakers the opportunity to join us at the Row Houses for a free evening of entertainment, marking an important day in history.

The event is part of English Heritage's commitment to running free events and workshops for the local community.
