Norfolk can now claim to have a proper music festival, after this weekend's successful Sundown Festival.

In only its second year, having been named Norfolk Spectacular in its first year, the festival's organisers managed to pull in a pretty impressive line-up.

Saturday was definitely a more pop-orientated affair, after original headliner Dizzee Rascal pulled out in June, seeing former X-Factor man Olly Murs stepping up to the mark.

Sunday brought a more urban feel to the festival though, and raised the average age by a fair bit from Saturday's crowd.

Being more of a rock and indie music fan myself, I was left impressed at some of the performances on the Sunday.

Miss Dynamite, who I barely realised was still performing, pulled out an enthusiastic performance full of grimy beats and bass that got the afternoon crowd in the mood for a party.

And the night continued to rise in tempo as the bigger acts followed.

Rapper Labrinth, signed to Simon Cowell's Syco label, was a massive surprise. He demanded the crowd got involved with his set and brought a huge energy to the showground.

Also showing his skills on lead guitar, I recognised more of his songs than I realised, including Tinie Tempah's huge hit Pass Out, which Labrinth both produced and sang the chorus on.

Sub Focus brought all the fun of a nightclub to the Norfolk countryside, with plenty of flashing lights and fast-paced dancing music.

Then the real star of the show took to the stage though, Radio One DJ Zane Lowe.

The New Zealander worked the crowd into a frenzy with a huge mix of songs, including dub step tracks, rap tracks like Dizzee Rascal's Fix Up and early 90s hit Jump Around, by House of Pain.

Lowe proved that he is anything but a button-pusher DJ, mixing a huge range of songs with style to create the ultimate party playlist.

And if that wasn't enough, superstar DJs Chase & Status completed a surprisingly fun night, with their huge repertoire of chart hits, including End Credits and Pieces.

With the various featured vocalists, such as Plan B and Delilah, appearing on a giant video screen behind the band, and an exhilarating light show, it was a fitting end to a frantic night.

The bar has been set high, now the challenge for the festival's organisers is to keep expanding and improving so that Sundown can start to build a big reputation.
