Under its new musical director Robin Ticciati it opens on Tuesday (7.15pm) with a new production of Donizetti's comic love story, Elixir of Love, specially created for the tour by Annabel Arden. The young Italian conductor Enrique Mazzola makes his Glyndebourne debut leading a cast that includes Adriana Kucerova (making her British stage debut in the role of Adina) while Peter Auty plays ever-hopeful Nemorino. A further performance takes place on Friday November 16 (7.15pm).
Then on Wednesday, it's Richard Jones' thrilling new production of Macbeth 7.15pm with Svetlana Sozdateleva as the self-destructive Lady Macbeth and Stephen Gadd in the title role. A further performance takes place on Saturday November 17 (7.15pm).
Then on Thursday it's Peter Hall's charming production of Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring. A highly-talented ensemble will sing this most admired of Britten's works, conducted by Rory Macdonald, assistant conductor of the Manchester-based Hallé Orchestra.
