A theatre company that has become a staple part of the arts scene in north Suffolk has unveiled its 2011 season.

The Jill Freud Theatre Company, founded by the wife of the late Sir Clement Freud, is well known for staging quirky and original plays in Southwold and Aldeburgh.

This season the repertory company will be performing Thomas Hardy's Far From the Madding Crowd and Agatha Christie's Love from a Stranger. They will also stage And a Nightingale Sang – C P Taylor's bittersweet comedy set during the second world war; Move Over Mrs Markham – a comedy co-written by 'master of mayhem' Ray Cooney; and Fiddlers Three – a comedy about office life from the author of Rising Damp.

Performances run between July 7 and September 10 at St Edmund's Hall in Southwold and Jubilee Hall in Aldeburgh.
