Include Schubert's Trout Quintet in a classical music programme and the audience will be delighted.

Have it performed by an ensemble of the calibre of Sonnerie, with pianist David Owen Norris, and listeners are transported into a 45 minute reverie.

Monica Huggett, the founder and leader of one of the foremost period music ensembles, is a much-respected specialist on the baroque violin.

David Owen Norris has notched up an illustrious career during which he has been described as “a phenomenon at the keyboard”.

The concert opened with one of Schubert's two string trios then David Owen Norris added his magnetism to Mozart's piano quartet in G minor, a format the composer invented, giving the piano a more prominent role than previously.

The musicians played with cohesion, much eye contact and great verve and prolonged applause proved the audience's pleasure.
