Mirror, mirror on the wall… which is the fairest panto of them all?
This one, performed by amateur dramatic group the Lowestoft Players, is in with a chance of winning that title.
The professional sets and costumes hired for this production were fantastic.
Magic mirrors that really speak (Peter Simmen is the face and unearthly voice of the mirror), strobe lighting and the ultra-violet sequence were particularly effective.
Stephen Wilson was one of the show's highlights. He has impeccable timing and made an excellent Nurse Nellie Knickerbocker.

Prince Gallant was elegantly played by Stephen Clark although his costume was reminiscent of Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean and a strong performance was put in by Nancy Paul as the evil Queen Horridious. Polly Woodward as Snow White sang an excellent solo.
The cast has obviously worked long and hard on this production and the skit that included the most improbable set of spoof Chi-ppendales imaginable will stay in my memory for ever.
t Continues until January 7.
