Cinderella is a magical story and a firm favourite with theatre audiences - but Northern Ballet has taken the magical element in its re-telling of the fairytale to a whole new level. The company brings this brand new ballet, with a specially written score by composer Philip Feeney and choreography by award-winning David Nixon MBE. The ultimate rags-to-riches story has been given a complete make-over with set design and costumes following an Imperial Russia theme, huskies to pull Cinderella's sleigh and a magician to cast spells in place of a fairy godmother. There are even acrobats, jugglers and stilt-walkers for a touch of colourful fun. They commissioned both theatrical magic and circus consultants to work with its dancers on these special elements of the show.
