Film enthusiasts in Wells will have the chance to see movies on their doorstep.
Screen-next-the-Sea, which will open at the town's Granary Theatre from Monday June 9, is the result of a new community venture.
Initially the group will be using hired equipment from the Creative Arts East 'Village Screen' but they hope to raise enough money for permanent equipment in the theatre.
The first screening will be the 2007 movie And When Did You Last See Your Father? starring Colin Firth, Jim Broadbent and Juliet Stevenson.
On July 14, Bafta and Oscar winning actress Marian Cotillard appears in La Vie En Rose, charting the life of Edith Piaf.
