Reepham music event features 27 acts
Two years in the planning, Reepham is set to have its very own one-day music extravaganza this month. At least six venues have been lined up and more than 27 acts already signed up to fill the town with music for all tastes on Saturday July 26.

At least six venues have been lined up and more than 27 acts already signed up to fill the town with music for all tastes on Saturday July 26. There will be local and national acts, from folk and jazz to classical and world music.
And it was all planned over a pint of cider in a town pub.
Steve Jenkins, who lives in Reepham and came up with the idea, said he had always wanted to be involved in music.
Although he now works in marketing in Norwich, he says he wanted to put on a festival which would give people their first chance to go to a proper gig or concert. And that it would be accessible for children and adults.
“We wanted somewhere where there would be a range of acts where you could go and see your first gig,” said Mr Jenkins, festival chairman. “It will be a first for Reepham and a first for a lot of people. We have the square here and all these lovely venues around the square so we thought let's utilise them. It should be a good day - and evening - out.”

As well as the music acts, from professional outfits to local bands, there will be art and photographic exhibitions, craft and food stalls, music workshops for children, street entertainers,
Acts appearing include Ten Ten Tackles, Soul Traders, Badly Worn Boys, The Gallery String Quartet, Horses' Brawl, John Ward and Mario Price, Cruelfolk and Tinpig.
London-based guitarist Michael Berk will be playing and instrumentalist baroque performer Jim Bisgood will be interrupting a summer residency at Hampton Court Palace for the event.
The event has been sponsored by Datadrum marketing, who Mr Jenkins works at as creative director, and other local businesses.
