Olympic bronze medallist and black power hero John Carlos visits Norwich

Olympic 200m bronze medallist and black power hero John Carlos is in Norwich tonight.

The American former sprint star is speaking at Cinema City as part of a national tour around England to promote his book, The John Carlos Story.

Mr Carlos and Tommie Smith's black power salute on the 1968 Olympic podium sparked global controversy and remains one of the most memorable images of Olympic history.

The 61-year-old visited Norwich University College of the Arts ahead of the talk, to see the current exhibit of American graphic designer Lance Wyman's work, which focuses on the Mexico 1968 Olympics.

He spoke with students about the controversial incident he is best known for.
