COLIN WILSON

Highly-rated trio Scouting for Girls head for Norwich Arts Centre on Monday night (8pm) as part of their She's So Lovely single tour. The band offers a unique take on life, with warmth, wit and a healthy dose of bittersweet nostalgia.

The band experienced a whirlwind start to 2007: signing to Epic Records on Valentine's Day following a band rehearsal in their Acton studio, the band were packed off to Helioscentric Studios in Rye within a week and have since found their music filling the country's airwaves with the debut release of their limited-edition EP, It's Not About You, in June.

School friends Roy Stride, Greg Churchouse and Pete Ellard grew up in and around Harrow together. Roy was Pete's “sixer” at Cub Scouts and Roy met bassist Greg in the playground at junior school. Ever since Roy persuaded Greg to get an acoustic guitar for Christmas aged 14, the trio have been indebted to writing songs together.

Support comes from local outfit Huck, who were started back in 2004 by singer Matt Watson. The band mix a variety of influences, including REM, the Wonderstuff and the Clash.
