All young people in Scouting, from Beavers to Explorers and Rainbows to Guides, can take up the quest which asks them to complete a series of hare-related tasks as well as follow the GoGoHares sculpture trail through Norwich and Norfolk.

The Norfolk Scouts Challenge badge - created in association with children's charity Break which is leading the GoGoHares project - was launched at an event at Eaton Vale Scout and Guide Activity Centre, near Norwich.

The idea for the badge comes after Norfolk Scouts sponsored the dragon sculpture Bajestic during the 2015 GoGoDragons! trail.

Jane Warden, deputy county commissioner for Norfolk Scouts, said: 'I am so pleased that Norfolk Scouts are able to support Break again this year.

'The challenges all link in with areas of our programme and gives leaders new and varied ideas to support running meetings in all sections. The response so far has been fantastic and I know we are all looking forward to seeing the hares on the trail in the summer.'

Depending on their age, the young people working towards the badge will be asked to do everything from create their own hare mask to capturing on camera a real-life hare to tidying up an area of woodland. The badges are already proving popular, with 1,000 of them already snapped up.

Martin Green, GoGoHares project manager, said: 'It is a great legacy from the GoGoDragons! trail that the Scouts want to be involved again, and it is fabulous to reach out to a wide range of ages to do the trail.'

The GoGoHares trail is being organised by Break and Wild in Art to celebrate Break's 50th anniversary. It will see 50 decorated hare sculptures dotted around Norwich from June 24 to September 8 and there will also be more hares on display in the wider county. There will also be a Norwich trail of leverets decorated by schools and community groups across Norfolk.
