People living near Holkham Hall will be able to get into the 18th century palladian mansion free of charge on Saturday May 17.

Under a new initiative, residents in postcode areas NR21, NR22, NR23, NR24, NR25, PE31, PE35 and PE36 can get in free of charge between 12 and 4.30pm as long as they take a utility bill with them.

Visitors will be invited to make a donation to the East Anglian Children's Hospices (EACH).

Simon Hempsall, marketing manager for EACH said: “This wonderful gesture from Viscount and Viscountess Coke helps EACH's Quidenham Children's Hospice enormously. Not only by raising funds but also giving us the opportunity to make people aware that EACH relies so heavily on voluntary local donations. Having visited this magnificent estate before I would urge all those in the catchment area to take advantage of combining a great day out while helping local children and their families.”
