Anyone visiting the UEA's Union Bar for a quiet drink last night was in for a shock, as Less Than Jake, headlining in the LCR, invited the whole audience there to an after show party.

Hundreds of excited rock fans may be a daunting sight in the confines of a cosy student bar, but they looked right at home moshing out to ska punk in the cavernous venue on the floor above.

Starting the show with long standing favourite Gainesville Rock City, the ska punkers from Gainesville, Florida bounced around the stage with the energy of hyperactive teenagers, with no sign of fatigue after more than a decade as a band.

Toilet paper guns, gross-out gags and Pez candy flicking were very much the order of the day, with the band playing the role of goofy entertainers.

Frontman Chris Demakes made sure everyone had a good time with a stream of insults and compliments to more extreme audience members.

The crowd were there for the music, and the band delivered, hammering out a mix of old classics, Grease covers and material from forthcoming album In With The Out Crowd, all at a blistering pace.
