Rhythm and blues legend, Jools Holland is the latest musician to be added to a spectacular line up of outdoor concerts being held across the region this summer.

The musician will play a one-off gig with his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra and special guest Lulu at the Somerleyton Estate, near Lowestoft, on Saturday, August 11.

Jools shot to fame as keyboard player with pop favourites Squeeze before going on to front Channel 4's ground-breaking music show The Tube and his own long-running Later With Jools Holland series. His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra has become a firm favourite with concert-goers.

Tony Green, managing director of the Somerleyton Estate said: “The estate is very pleased to be continuing its presentation of outdoor music with the Jools Holland concert and we hope this will be the first of many collaborations with IML Concerts.”

The gig, which is sponsored by the EDP, is the latest in a long line of outdoor concerts announced this summer.

On Friday tickets for both Madness and Bryan Ferry at Blickling Hall in north Norfolk will go on sale, with further acts due to be announced.

Tickets for the hall's anniversary party, celebrating 10 years of outdoor concerts and featuring among others Belinda Carlisle and Tony Hadley have already sold out.

While in the west of the region, it will be a busy summer for the Forestry Commission with Travis, Blondie and Van Morrison among the acts announced to play Thetford Forest.

It will also be the second year for the region's two newest music festivals, the Mean Fiddler organised Latitude festival on the Henham Estate, near Southwold, and the Eastern Haze festival on the Somerleyton Estate, near Yarmouth.
