When the GoGoHares hop into Norwich this summer they will be joined by an array of leaping leverets who are looking for homes in local shops and businesses.
More than 160 leveret – or young hare – sculptures have been decorated by local schools and community groups as part of the GoGoCreate programme, and they will form a second Norwich trail to complement the main trail of 50 GoGoHares being brought to the city by children's charity Break and Wild in Art.
Some of the leverets will take up residence in The Forum, Castle Mall, intu Chapelfield, and Norwich Cathedral, but organisers are also looking for other city centre locations to display them.
Local shops and businesses have until Friday, May 4 to apply to give a leveret a home for the summer.
GoGoCreate project coordinator Pete Marron said: 'We are looking for small businesses and venues within Norwich city centre to host our beautiful leverets from July 2 until September 2. It is a great opportunity to get involved with the GoGoHares project, to support the local community and also help attract more people to your business.'
The leverets are all now gathered in a secret location ahead of the trail, and Mr Marron said the schools and community groups involved had done themselves proud with the sculptures they had created.
He said: 'There are about 164 leverets and there are so many stories behind each of the leverets about how and why they have been decorated. 'There are so many back stories to how they got to this point.
'They are all so unique and so different and it shows the creativity within schools and community groups across Norfolk.'
To be able to host a leveret businesses will need to put the sculpture in a place which is visible to the public at all times and for which there is no entry fee.
