As a prelude to the Cromer Carnival, which runs from August 12 to 18, the organising committee has been staging its annual children's week.

And scores of youngsters, and their families, have been making their way to the seafront to take part in the festivities.

From beach sports to crabbing, a disco and sandcastle competition, the fortnight-long programme of free events has included something for everyone.

Ben Richards, who organised the first week of events, said: 'It's great to have a week completely dedicated to the kids. It really gets them in the carnival spirit and you can feel the excitement as you walk around the town.'
