Teenagers from Broadland High School will be going retro for an eagerly-anticipated performance of Grease the Musical.

The show, at the Hoveton school, will be performed on Friday, July 12 at 7pm and Saturday, July 13 at 2pm and 7pm.

It will feature 29 pupils from the school which has not put on a musical for several years, according to Nikki Rice from the school.

Laurence Clary, head of drama at the high school, said: 'We cannot wait for the show as it has been very hard work. We have an amazing cast, some fun dances and the most fantastic Grease Lightning ever.

'This show will be great for all the family, and will brighten up what has been so far a pretty grey summer.'

The main roles of Sandy and Danny are played by Ellie Jenkins and Will Starling.

Grease the Musical was written in 1971 by Warren Casey and Jim Jacobs and is about two lovers in a 1950s American high school.

The film version, which starred John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, was made in 1978.
