Halesworth's Gig in the Park runs from today, Friday August 3, until Sunday, August 5, with a bumper crop of bands over three stages.

On Friday (6.30pm) it's the likes of Skacoustica - playing, you'll have probably worked out, acoustic versions of ska hits, plus headliner Neville Staple, formerly of the Specials and founder member of Fun Boy Three.

Saturday's headliners are Liverpool favourites Echo and the Bunnymen, who began on the influential Zoo label with such singles as Pictures on My Wall before hitting the big time with their massive single The Cutter which enjoyed top 10 success. Their subsequent album Porcupine peaked at number two in 1983 spawning the hit singles The Killing Moon and Seven Seas.

Supporting them will be blues/rock outfit the Hamsters, Audioporn, Japanese drum troupe Dojo, the Mosaics, the Frank Morrow Band, BEAR and Remember When. Over on the intermediate stage you can enjoy the likes of Peter Appleyard, Indigo Jam and Pursued by Bear.

On Sunday (music from noon) the main stage headliners are acclaimed blues practitioners the Blues Band, led by former Manfred Mann vocalist Paul Jones, and with a vast range of experience of the British rhythm and blues scene under their belts. Other attractions include local favourites Mondatta Funk, the Austin Beats and Cuban Grooves from Albeno Cubana.

On the intermediate stage look out for NBT III finalists Sam and Daisy among the packed programme.

The event has a capacity of 3,000 and is always popular, so don't hang about for tickets.
