The dates, pencilled in for February 18, 20, 25 and March 3, will be used as warm-up gigs for new material ahead of Buxton's 'Kernal Panic' tour later this year.

Tickets for the shows, normally in excess of £20, have been slashed to a fiver each.

Buxton, who lives in south Norfolk, is primarily known for his radio work on BBC Radio 6 Music, as well as television comedy and acting appearances including Have I Got News for You and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.

His 'Kernal Panic' project has been described as 'a guided tour through the contents of his laptop, including various short videos he's made, his favourite YouTube comments as well as other odds and sods'.

A statement from the Norwich venue said, 'We were very pleased to have been approached by Adam to host four warm-up shows at the venue. He hasn't performed at Norwich Arts Centre with a solo show before, so we're excited to have him with us. 'It's helped raise our profile within the Norwich comedy scene and has gained us new audiences which we look forward to welcoming at the end of the month.'

His popular 'Bug' shows are normally performed at Norwich Playhouse.
