• The National Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company, Theatre Royal, 7.30pm, £8-£35
Over Friday and Saturday, the National Gilbert and Sullivan Orchestra will be taking to the stage at the Theatre Royal to perform two very different shows. Tonight will see the company and Richard Gauntlett take on The Mikado, a comedic tale set in the fictitious Japanese town of Titipu.
• You've got a friend: James Taylor and Carole King, Norwich Playhouse, 7.30pm, £17.50
This new musical show, from the creators of The Simon & Garfunkel Story, celebrates the work of James Taylor and Carole King and includes hit songs such as I Feel The Earth Move, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow and You've Got A Friend.
• [UNIT] at The Shoe Factory Social Club, 7pm and 9pm, St Mary's Works, £5
[UNIT] is a unique collective of artists who work to create a brand new type of multi-sensory performance for their audiences, which draws on elements of traditional and experimental music. The set is performed in a 'surround stage' with seven oversized video screens and an octophonic soundsystem to help make the experience as immersive as possible.
• The Cabana Club Welcome Krispy Kreme Norwich, Mercy XS, 10pm, Prices vary
Krispy Kreme's new store opened in Norwich today and The Cabana Club will be celebrating this tonight by giving away over 200 doughnuts as well as Krispy Kreme T-shirts hats and more. DJ Tim Zee will also be on hand, playing the hottest songs in the world right now.
