What was billed as a children's event at King's Lynn Town Hall proved equally entertaining and instructive for adults when two talented musicians shared their knowledge and love of music.

The combination of explanation, demonstration and performance proved an ideal formula to engage the interest of youngsters.

The highly-regarded duo, Horacio Franco (recorder) and Robin Bigwood (harpsichord), each a virtuoso performer in his own field, offered appropriate inspiration to children whose first experience of a musical instrument is usually that of the recorder or keyboard.

Horacio Franco spoke of his interest in promoting the recorder as a classical instrument. He demonstrated the versatility of his large family of instruments with a piece representing the nightingale and even played two recorders simultaneously.

Robin Bigwood also gave colourful examples of the range of the harpsichord and together they performed a variety of pieces.
