Life-sized elephants and carnival horses will help launch street jamboree Festa Fiesta which will include a celebration of circus and Latin music, part of Great Yarmouth Arts Festival.
The circus is coming to town with an international line-up of performers ready to bring a Latin-themed jamboree to the streets of Great Yarmouth.
Sensational circus and Latin beats are amongst the headline acts at Great Yarmouth Arts Festival as it returns from June 8.
Now in its sixth year, the festival has been steadily growing, celebrating the international nature of the town with a mix of music, visual arts, theatre.
Great Yarmouth and Norwich are jointly one of six 'circus cities' around the country, celebrating under the banner of Circus 250, marking the 250th anniversary of circus.
To mark it SeaChange Arts, the organisation behind the annual Out There Festival, will be presenting Festa Fiesta, a day long street festival of free music, circus, food and festivity, on June 9.
The day will get underway with the festival's traditional carnival procession which features a trio of life-sized elephants, carnival horses, costumes and giant banner flags, depicting the town's long association with circus.
The carnival will parade around the town from the Hippodrome and will arrive at St. George's Theatre, before the festival brings the town's blossoming cultural quarter and venues alive with Latin music, dance, street entertainment and food.
Boogie to purveyors of 'Surf Noir', the Bikini Beach Band, Bongo Bolero's Dick Danger and Maynard Flip Flap will provide street hi-jinks while Out There Festival favourites Ramshacklicious, return to Great Yarmouth with an apocalyptic brass band explosion.
There will be workshops for all the family, an enormous piñata bash, a street beach and a range of exotic street foods.
As dusk falls, the action moves inside for two ticketed events. The Drill House plays host to the acclaimed Tipping Point, by Ockham's Razor – a sensational circus show where performers cling, climb and clamber across metal poles.
The day's action will reach a finale with the Festa Fiesta Dance Party at St George's Theatre. Revel in the carnival atmosphere with an evening of luscious live Latin rhythms from Pollito Boogaloo and, from Mallorca, Latin ska band, Dinamo.
The Great Yarmouth Arts Festival continues over the next week with a mix of theatre, music and visual arts.
Great Yarmouth Minster hosts a number of concerts throughout the festival. A visit from the Waveney Sinfonia, with astounding young soloist, Yu Zhou Zhang on June 9 will bring a programme including Rossini and Beethoven.
Some of the county's leading string players formed the Cavick String Quarter in 2009 to share their passion for chamber music. They visit the Minster on June 14 with works from Haydn and Beethoven.
St George's Theatre hosts Queers on June 12 and 19, a moving exploration of British gay history over the last century seen through the eyes of eight individuals.
Throughout the festival, there will be a number of exhibitions. Great Yarmouth Minster hosts Art in the Minster, offering a showcase for a diverse and exciting range of local visual artists. John Kiki and Darren Barker present a joint exhibition at Skippings Gallery on King Street.
There will also be a chance to uncover town's history in a Local History Fair at St George's Theatre on June 9 with stalls, bygone pictures and a trove of local books.
