Norfolk will be treated to a rare opportunity to see salsa performed at its international best as the current world champions travel from Colombia to perform just one evening of shows in the county at the weekend.

Jhon Vazquez and Judy Aguilar will be showing off their salsa skills on Saturday at the Assembly House in Norwich. The event is also raising money for Nueva Dimension, a charity giving dance opportunities to disadvantaged children in Cali, Colombia, the pair's home town.

They will perform three spectacular shows and first-timers to the salsa scene are particularly welcome with a beginner lesson before the performances start. There will also be an improver/intermediate lesson.

Nad Naqvi, who runs NorwichSalsa and is organising the event, said it was a one off chance to see salsa at its finest and would appeal to veterans and newcomers alike.

t The event takes place in the Noverre Suite at the Assembly House on Theatre Street, Norwich. Doors open at 6.45pm with an improver/intermediate lesson at 7pm and a beginner lesson at 8pm. Shows and social dancing will then start from about 9pm and continue until 11.30pm. Entrance at the door will be £12 (£10 concessions) but places can be booked in advance.
