The GoGoHares sculptures will follow in the footsteps of the GoGoGorillas! and GoGoDragons! and form a charity art trail through Norwich and beyond this summer from June 24 to September 8.

Yesterday a mix of artists and sponsors gathered at the Narthex at Norwich's Cathedral of St John the Baptist to celebrate the progress of the project which is being brought to the city and county by children's charity Break and Wild in Art.

They were also given an update on new GoGo developments - including plans for Break and the EDP and Evening News to join forces to create a GoGoHares sticker book.

Michael Rooney, head of commercial services at Break, said: 'We are so grateful to get the backing of new and returning sponsors for our GoGo trail this year, to be fully supported five months ahead of the trail going live is a magnificent place to be.

'The appetite for these trails seems to grow year on year and 2018 is particularly special as it is supporting the work of Norfolk's children's charity Break in its 50th year.'

Lots of artists are now busily working away to decorate the larger GoGoHares - including 50 hares that will be dotted around Norwich and 18 that will be placed around the wider county - and all of these sculptures have now been sponsored.

Meanwhile 160 smaller leaping leveret sculptures are also being decorated by schools and community groups.

Over the next few months people will see the specially-decorated GoGoHares' van out and about moving the GoGoHares around the county as preparations continue. Break is also recruiting for 'volunt-hares' to help with moving the sculptures around and cleaning and caring for the figures. All 'volunt-hares' will receive a special T-shirt sponsored by Stevensons of Norwich and anyone interested should get in touch via www.gogohares.co.uk/contact

Running alongside the GoGoHares project, many people are also taking on a new challenge to celebrate Break's 50th year. They include Mr Rooney and his son Tom who are among five people running the London Marathon for Break.

GoGoHares fans will be able to have fun snapping up stickers of the colourful characters during the trail.

The Eastern Daily Press and Evening News are joining forces with Break and East of England Co-op to create a GoGoHares sticker album.

Martin Green, GoGoHares project manager, said: 'Break is delighted to work in partnership with the EDP and Evening News on a sticker book to include both the city and county hares as well as the leverets which are being created by schools, organisations and groups from around the county. We cannot wait to see the excitement on children's faces as they discover their hare on a sticker.'

During the 2015 GoGoDragons! trail demand for our album featuring the fiery beasts and the GoGoGorillas! went off the scale with people snapping up more than 7,000 albums and 1.5 million stickers.

More details about the GoGoHares sticker album and when it will be available will be announced in the coming months.
