The latest in a regular series of Midsummer Music concerts sees a former church organist make a welcome return as part of a five-strong group of professional female musicians.

Jane Weeks, an accomplished pianist and music teacher, and husband John lived in the Breckland village of Wretham when he first took up his post as headmaster at Thetford Grammar School.

During that time, Mrs Weeks was regular organist at St Ethelbert's Church in East Wretham.

She returns as part of Ad Lib to provide entertainment at the Victorian church in the centre of the village off the A1075.

Ad Lib first came together in 1997 and made their debut at the King's Lynn Festival that year. Since then they have been in demand over a wide area.

Their programme at East Wretham on Saturday, June 21, includes works by Thomas Arne, Henri Brod, Hayden, Mozart, Gershwin and Bernstein.

Ad Lib comprises Jane Huntingdon, soprano; Fiona Sullivan, flute; Juliet Rickard, oboe and cor Anglais; Jessica Berners, cello and Jane Weeks, piano.

Tickets for the concert, which starts at 7.30pm, are £7 (to include refreshment) and are available from 01953 498609 and 01953 881570.
